There is a new Vision for Scotland that says that an independent Scotland can have faster, more sustainable economic growth whilst also becoming a wealthier society. Written by leading academics and business people with the intention of opening a conversation about Scotland’s future, it aims to create a suite of policies that can significantly increase Scotland’s economic growth up to 5% per year.
Business for Scotland’s report Vision for Scotland covers the opportunities for Scotland ranging from boosting R&D, maximising oil and gas, ports and immigration, EU membership, Scotland’s renewables opportunities and creating an improved tax system.
The report highlights how independence can help Scotland create economic growth, generate new jobs and increased tax revenues, while promoting localism, self determination, sustainability and co-operation.

The Vision for Scotland Conference
Last month an audience of 130 influential business people, trade unionists and academics gathered at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh to listen to eighteen speakers from business and academia, the NHS and Scotland’s First Minister as we start the process of building a better more prosperous and successful Scotland.
Although our “sold out” event was almost completely ignored by the mainstream media over 15,000 copies of our Vision for Scotland report have been downloaded already. Please download the report and consider that whereas the NO campaign have no Vision for Scotland, just unrealistic and often frankly laughable desperate prophesies of doom, we at Business for Scotland have been laying the foundations upon which we can build a successful, thriving dynamic economy and society.
Watch this short video to give you an idea of what our conference looked like and why it it so important to share our vision.
